Mark Kent serves as President/CEO of KENTWORLDWIDE DEVELOPMENT, which is a unique property acquisition, development, and management entity headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina. KENTWORLDWIDE's Vision statement is to develop premier properties, build innovative partnerships, and create sustainable business models for the real estate industry of the future. The corporate vision is complemented by the company's commitment to quality and service, and to building partnerships and alliances that are enabling KWWD to go to a new level. Important KENTWORLDWIDE DEVELOPMENT partners, representing new corporate directions for the company, include SPECTRUM Commercial Properties and The Peacock Hotel & Spa. KENTWORLDWIDE DEVELOPMENT [formerly Kent Properties] has developed and currently manages a portfolio of signature office buildings in Greenville's central business district including The Historic Chamber Building [also known as The Liberty Building] and the Kent Court Building [also known as The American Cigar Building]; and, is now co-developing the visionary $60+ million Peacock Hotel being constructed in downtown Greenville in conjunction with business partner Grant Peacock. Mark Kent also serves as President/CEO of KENTWORLDWIDE and KENTWOOL. KENTWORLDWIDE, originally a strategic holding company formed in the early 1990s, is the corporate flagship entity and innovation platform for the Kent family of companies. Kent, a 20-year veteran of the textile industry, began his formal career with KENTWOOL [formerly Kent Manufacturing] in 1986, and has served as Chairman since 1993. He has also served on a number of boards and strategic committees in the textile industry. Beyond his executive leadership responsibilities, Kent has been extremely active in South Carolina manufacturing, business, economic development and philanthropic circles, and has served on numerous strategic boards; including the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce, South Carolina Board of Health and Environmental Control and the American Red Cross Upstate SC Chapter. He has been the recipient of numerous honors, including the State of Carolina Philos Award, Southeastern Volunteer of the Year and National Board Nominee from the American Red Cross, and the Liberty Fellow Selection under the national program of the Henry Crown Fellowship of the Aspen Institute. A native of Philadelphia, Kent is a 1985 graduate of Wake Forest University and a 1986 graduate of Clemson University's School of Textiles. |
